Winston Churchill and Islam

Postby True Aussie » 21 Oct 2009, 14:44

For many years I have heard that Churchill made various comments on Islam and his view on it. I watched a video of a Geert Wilders interview recently and Wilders noted that Churchill had compared the koran to mein kampf. I am not sure where Churchill made this comparison (if anyone knows I'd love to read it) but I thought I'd post the link to a passage from his book 'The River War'.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Any thoughts?

"Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce" all directly traceable to the stultifying effect of Sharia law, under the strict interpetation of which you can't fart without consulting the local Sharia court. Not the sort of environment to encourage entrepreneurialism or innovation.
