The Federal Government believes the problem of the sexualisation of children in all forms of media needs to be addressed, as controversy over an art exhibition featuring naked young teen girls continues.

uhhhhhh Krudd.....

Take a quick look at the opinion pages of the fairfax press, your support base in the "gentrified" inner suburbs disagree with you....

The Melbourne Age is carrying the flame for the Paddington pedo set by displaying an uncensored child porn image from the Henson collection that was confiscated by police.  I won't bother giving the link, but interestingly there is a suggestion that the exhibition would be considered child pornography if displayed in Victoria.

Actually, since the image is on the internet, it would be worth putting in a formal complaint, I will have to give the link ( http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/the-controversial-career-of-bill-henson/2008/05/24/1211183189567.html [ warning contains child nuditiy ].

Turnbull supports the display of child pornography:

Malcolm Turnbull has criticised the police raids of galleries displaying the work of photographer Bill Henson.

"I don't believe that we should have policemen invading art galleries." the Opposition treasury spokesman said on Sky News.

"I think we have a culture of great artistic freedom in this country."

Mr Turnbull's comments follow police inquiries at two galleries yesterday - the Newcastle Regional Gallery and the National Gallery of Victoria.

Well done, Darrin.

Your campaigning against child pornography has had yet another success.

The Age has now removed the nude photograph of the young girl from their internet site.

No charge over Henson's naked kid photos

Police will not prosecute artist Bill Henson over his photographs of naked teenagers which were declared "mild and justified" by Australia's Classification Board.

NSW police previously said it was "likely" the artist would face prosecution after officers stormed Sydney's Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery last month, seizing 20 of Henson's photographs of a naked adolescent girl and boy in response to a complaint.

An investigation into the photographs by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has been completed and submitted to NSW Police.

NSW police on Friday indicated charges would not be laid.

..."We looked at the possibility of breaches of the Crimes Act. The advice given to us is that a successful prosecution was unlikely."

The Classification Board's latest review of Henson's work looked at a May 25 online blog which included a photo of naked adolescent female facing the camera, her genitals obscured by shadowing and her arms. Her breasts were visible.

...The works are now expected to be returned to the Roslyn Oxley9 gallery, police said.

No charges will be laid against the gallery.

I assume the Classification Board looked at the pictures on display in the gallery, not just one on the online blog? Or what.

And will the exhibition go ahead now?
